（外国人）はい、初めてです。

（お店）しゃぶしゃぶを食べたことはありますか？
Have you ever eaten shabu-shabu before?
（外国人）はい、あります。

Do you know how to eat shabu-shabu?

（お店）まずお肉の種類をお選びください。牛肉、豚肉、鶏肉をご用意しています。
First, select which meat you would like. We have beef, pork, and chicken.

The shabu-shabu pot is filled with a broth.

Use this pot to cook your meat and vegetables.
（お店）だし汁が温まってきたら、野菜やきのこ、豆腐などお好きなものを入れてください。
Once the broth is hot, add what you like, such as vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, etc.
（お店）だし汁が沸騰してきたら、おはしでお肉を持ち、お湯に浸してください。
Once the broth starts to boil, use your chopsticks to dip the meat into the broth until it is cooked.
（お店）野菜を入れる前に、お肉だけを入れて食べても大丈夫です。
You can also, of course, cook the meat before adding the vegetables.
（外国人）お肉は、どれくらいだし汁に浸せばいいですか？
How long should the meat be in the broth?
（お店）お肉は薄切りなので、2〜3回浸すと火が通ります。
The meat is thinly sliced, so dipping the entire piece into the broth two or three times should cook it thoroughly.
（お店）牛肉は、色が赤色からピンク色になったら、豚肉と鶏肉は全体的に白っぽくなったらお召し上がりいただけます。
Once the meat changes color it is ready to be eaten. For beef, the color will turn from red to pink. Pork and chicken will turn white.
（お店）豚肉と鶏肉は、牛肉よりもしっかりと火を通してからお召し上がりください。
Be sure to cook pork and chicken longer than beef to be sure it is thoroughly cooked before eating.
（お店）お肉や野菜には、ぽん酢、ごまだれ、薬味など、お好みでつけてお召し上がりください。
Dip the meat and vegetables ponzu vinegar or sesame seed sauce and your choice of condiments.

コンロの火が強すぎる場合は、このツマミを左へ回して、ご自身で調整してください。
If the stove is too hot, turn this knob counterclockwise to lower the temperature.
お鍋が沸騰してくると、泡のようなアクが出ます。こちらのスプーンですくって取り除くと、おいしく食べられます。
As the broth boils, a foam-like substance will rise to the top. Use this spoon to skim off the foam for better flavor.
お肉や野菜、豆腐などの追加オーダーもお受けできます。

If the amount of broth gets low, let us know so we can add more.
お肉や野菜を食べた後に、最後にうどんまたはラーメンを入れてお召し上がりください。
After you’ve finished the meat and vegetables we can add some udon or ramen noodles for you to enjoy.
うどんやラーメンの代わりに、ごはんを入れる雑炊もご用意できます。
Rice can also be substituted for noodles to make rice porridge.
